California Education Code section 48205 states that a student absence from school is considered to be excused when it is due to illness, a medical/dental appointment, a funeral service for a member of the student's immediate family, a court appearance, or religious observance. All other absences are considered to be unexcused. Three or more unexcused absences or tardies of 30 minutes or more result in a declaration of truancy. Please be sure to call the office when your child is absent. Automated attendance calls will go out by 8:30 a.m. to all absences that have not been called in or any unexcused absences.

At Millbrook, we believe in comprehensive tenets that define what we value. Although our mission, vision and specialty focus permeate throughout our efforts, we feel it is important from time to time, to publish these tenets as reminders to our school community. Included here, are mission, vision and area of focus statements. Mission: The Millbrook community works together to provide students opportunities to take risks in a safe, nurturing environment. We provide challenging experiences, which address the needs of the whole child while promoting responsibility, respect, and compassion for others. Vision: Millbrook's vision is to foster thoughtful, caring, and creative students. They will be critical thinkers and problem solvers. Students will be confident, prepared for future success and achieve their academic and social potential. Global Literacy: We emphasize this as an understanding of how the world is organized and interconnected and the possibilities and constraints facing its people. Globally literate students analyze and think critically about the world and their roles in it. They become fluent investigators of the world, celebrating our diversity as global citizens.
